B1 Bombers Violating Iran's Skies as The Oil Price Peaks!
- Crude oil prices are nearing $100 per barrel today.
- Axios reports that the U.S. used B-1 bombers to attack Iran on Tuesday night1. To me, this sounds like a desperate move by the U.S., as if it doesn’t know what else to do. My other impression is that they might be running low on cruise missiles and are therefore being forced to use much less accurate methods, including carpet bombing. We saw this same pattern in the previous round, the 40-day war, when the aggressors against Iran resorted to older technology as the conflict approached its final days.
- There have been no signs of diplomatic efforts in the last few days. Iraq’s prime minister proposed mediating between Iran and the U.S.—our prime minister responded, “We are not short on mediators; the U.S. is short on faith in negotiations!”2 —and that’s true.
- There are signs pointing to increased tension and serious escalation over the next few days. The U.K. and France have withdrawn their diplomats from Iran, while Iran has threatened to bomb the ‘Zionist apartheid regime’ if the U.S. strikes the Kolang Mountain nuclear facility. The withdrawal of Western diplomats has almost always preceded some kind of severe escalation. On top of that, Trump told Channel 12, an Israeli TV network, in an interview that he is deciding on a large-scale, comprehensive attack on Iran.
